Renovations are coming!!

Well I've been a busy boy over the past few days. We are in the process of getting a new kitchen so we got the kitchen guy over on Saturday afternoon and proceeded to design what our new kitchen will look like.

Im really happy with the initial design. There is going to be a huge island bench in the middle where the cooktop and oven will be stationed and where the meals will be eaten. And one wall will have the sink and the cupboards with no overhead cupboards everything will be down low to give a much more spacious feel. So he went away with our ideas and will be back in a couple of weeks with the final design. Things should be up and running within 6 weeks.

Saturday afternoon I headed upto Sydney to spend a couple of days with a boy I met a few weeks ago and have decided to spend some time with him. He is sweet, cute and understanding of my situation. So Im going to enjoy spending time with him. He is also Sicilian like me and in fact comes from the same island as my Mum so we have a few things in common.

Came home Sunday afternoon and chilled out at home then went and hung out with my sister and her kids.

Today I went appliance pricing and checking out what was available. We have decided on Induction cooktops. These babies are amazing! Induction cooking works on magnetics. They are almost instant in heating and the residual heat is almost none.

So as you know Im loving cooking. Tonight I made a Risotto with mushrooms and asparagus...

It was absolutely delicious! The weather was much cooler today being in the high 60's so I think winter is approaching. We are having the odd hot day like yesterday being in the 90's but Autumn is coming in a few weeks and things like Risotto are so warming, especially when the ingredients are so fresh.
